| Balance Ball | VRML Project |
|
Implementation Here is the model we created. You need a VRML viewer to see it. Cosmo Player 2.1 is the viewer we used and we recommend. Note that we didn't test the model with any other viewer and we are quite sure that there will be problems or you'll probably not be able to see anything at all with an other player such as Microsoft Internet Explorer. So the best is to download Cosmo Player. The calculation of the position of the balls is quite CPU intensive. Therefore you should use a PentiumII at 333MHz or similar to view the model. Otherwise it could happen that the model 'jumps' and it doesn't look real. Controls Click on a ball to start the model. Turn the knob in the lower left bottom to change the coefficient of elasticity. Value 1 means that the balls are fully elastic and they will never stop. If you decrease it the energy of motion will be partially absorbed by the material and not the full energy will be transmitted to the next movement. Some viewpoints are predefined and will bring you to a pretty view of the model. |
